What is National Eligibility and Entrance Test NEET

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), previously known as All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study graduate and postgraduate medical courses (MBBS, MD, MS) and dental courses (BDS, MDS) in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges

Exam pattern and structure

Total Marks: 720

Marking Scheme:

Each correct answer: 4 marks
Each incorrect answer: 1 mark deducted (negative marking)
No marks deducted for unattempted questions
Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with four options

Exam Structure:

Physics: 50 questions (45 compulsory, 5 optional)
Chemistry: 50 questions (45 compulsory, 5 optional)
Biology: 100 questions (90 compulsory, 10 optional)
Note: In the optional section, candidates must attempt only 10 out of the 15 questions.
